Christopher R Kunkle appointed director, securities lending & market risk at RMA

The Risk Management Association (RMA) has appointed Christopher R Kunkle to the role of director for securities lending and market risk, replacing the retiring Curtis Knight.

In his new job, Kunkle will be responsible for coordinating the RMA’s securities lending committee and will also be charged with overseeing the organisation’s risk programme and events.

Kunkle is a veteran of the securities lending industry, having represented the industry with the IRS, Treasury Department and Securities and Exchange Committee in the US, and with the Inland Revenue in the UK. Before joining the RMA, he was managing director and senior vice president at Wachovia Global Securities Lending Group, responsible for the western hemisphere and Europe.

Kunkle’s appointment came shortly after there was a change at the top of the RMA, with William F Githens taking up the post of president and CEO in late January.
